College: OSU, Frosh in Earth Science//Applied Earth Science//Minor in Oceanography.
Classes 1st Term: Physical Geology, Math 111 (please shoot me, I learned this crap in 6th grade), Western Civilization 101, Marching Band.
Grades: Roughly all A's. Geology isn't all too awesome as I had first thought. The teacher has this new way of Power Pointing which screws me on the weekly quizzes. Got an A on my history test and a B+ on my 5 page essay! Johnson's class paid off! (I DIDN'T EVEN STATE MY THESIS! LOLOLOL! But I did attend class every session and read an effin' ton) Math=steady A and Band is Band.
Dorms: Since OSU offers "Student Choice" rooming, I suggest one close to your classes. I am in McNary, which isn't just for Honors College kids, because I'm not one of them. Cauthorn kinda gave me the "Dive Hotel" essence and Wilson feels like the best choice for a "dorm experience. Bloss is really nice with 1 person rooms and an adjoined restroom that you share with a neighbor, just it is really far away. Cauthorn is decent too. It's all just a "your choice" thing. Finley is more for upperclassmen with 4 separate bedrooms to each living quarter but it also one of the more expensive.
Beds are not too bad. Rooms with movable furniture are extra handy. Lift kits are neat, but a pain to get in and out of when exhausted/in the dark. You can get a bigger mini-fridge if you want, as long as your roommate doesn't get a fridge. One printer is all you need, as long as it is USB compatible so computers can share.
FYI: Food is overpriced on campus. Tenor saxophones should hold their instruments in front of them when they stand. It promotes good airflow and is necessary for marching intonation.
Fun stuffs: Band is my only social time. We meet Monday and Tuesdays from 6:30-9PM and Fridays from 5-7pm. The Tenor Sax section has 15 people. We are the whitest group ever. Complete crackers! It is T3H LULz! We do group fun things and chill. Granted, this is the longest period of time I spend with a 'small' gathering of similar people all week. I've never memorized so much music before! And my personal favorite thing about Band is that I can play relatively anything from sight now as long as it's in 4/4, 2/2, or 3/4. I can play the whole register of the Tenor now!
The MU has a bowling alley, there is food within the proximity of my dorm at all hours, it's not too loud, buses are free for students, loads of clubs, and biking is pretty fun. Also there is a 12-plex movie theater in town.
Overall, when I'm not at class, I'm on Facebook. eating, or Texting. Life of a college student.
Not fun stuffs: Use ratemyprofessor.com before you choose what class you decide to join, because I was originally in Physics 201 and the teacher was the LOWEST rated and I could completely understand why. I was panicking in class that I didn't understand. So I dropped the class and am now in an EPICALLY awesome history class.
Bike cops pull over bikes. They are jerkfaces. Personally, this hasn't happened to me--but when I see them pull over people on bikes for not stopping at stop signs when on "no vehicles allowed" streets I seriously go wtf.
Greek row and frat parties are lamecore. During Halloween Johnny and I perused Greek row and found that it was a complete joke. We just stood outside and people-watched not amused by the sight of drunk people sloshing their way through streets.
My Birthday: It was a month ago today. I'm officially 19 and one month old. Kinda creepy kinda meh. Had a party at Applebees in Albany with some Tenor Buddies, Ben (Nancy!), and Johnny (:3). The next day I went home and had a small celebration at my mom's. Johnny's gifts were a dozen roses(!), an Opal necklace(!!), and a UO shirt (that I will eventually destroy, but shhhhhh!). The necklace is beautiful, so thus, I wear it every day (2 for 3 ain't bad)! My mom's gifts were miscellaneous bike repair gear and some gum.
Halloween: I woke up at 6am because call-time for band was 9. The game wasn't until 1, but since Halloween was Homecoming for OSU. Johnny came to the game too! I'll post a link of our AMAZING halftime show once it is up on the OSUMB website. We won with 30 seconds left on the clock with a freaking lucky touchdown by our part! From 4-6pm I napped. Next I dressed up as a Tavern Maiden from Fable I and II--though it transposed itself over as a Vampire. I dressed Johnny as a "Twilight-esque" vampire with sparkles. Talk about SUPER CUTE LAWL! We ate Subway and walked for hours, hung with some friends, then both of us fell asleep before midnight. /FAIL.
Overall: College and life are pretty fantastic. I bus over to Johnny's 3-5 days a week and watch movies. I'm reading the new H2G2 book. Not too bad. I suggest borrowing it, or if you are a die-hard fan, like myself, to buy it. I can run the length of a football field and back now and can do 10 push ups!! But gaining some mid-section pudge is inevitable. I'll be back possibly over winter break!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.
